WAR ON DRUGS AND SEIZURES

War on Drugs and Seizures…Beware the Attack on Liberty Through This False “War”.

The Constitution provides for the protection of civil liberties regardless of race, background, social status, and character.

In reality however, this remains quite fictional today, for the law enforcement officers may just break into your house out of the blue and search you for no reason.

The Constitution clearly provides for the opposite, by stating that it prohibits unreasonable search and seizure, cruel and unusual punishment, and compelled self-incrimination.

The government may decide to break into your house anytime, under the excuse of “War on Drugs and Seizure” and seize you if necessary, although such acts amount to hostile mistreatment of humans.

This false drug war started some seven decades ago, although only in recent times did it become more widespread.

It appears as if the prohibition in the past had failed, so it was time to take such drastic and perverse legal actions.

The US has moved on with its drug war quite excessively.

However, every coin has two sides, and so does this war on drugs and seizures.

It has been reported that within an average one month period, the guards at the US-Mexico border may sometimes capture up to 8 tons of drugs.

This isn’t the gist of discussion today however. Our focus is rather on the households’ connection to the war on drugs and seizure process, which goes against the ‘private space’ doctrine right conferred to each citizen of the country.

FOURTH AMENDMENT DULY IGNORED

One of the provisions in the Bill Of Rights, particularly under the Fourth Amendment, provides for the 'right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures”.

As dubious as it may sound, this Amendment is duly not exercised today.

Police powers have been extensively stretched out by virtue of the war on drugs, which allows them to challenge the integrity of the Fourth Amendment indeed.

POLICE POWERS GROW

Search and seizure in the customs’ vicinity is perfectly fine, but what if the same thing was done to your vehicle or yourself in the streets, or perhaps in your house; without your prior permission?

Sounds fictional, like in the movies? Not really, in fact, for most of the times such things happen for real every day in our daily lives. People can be stopped out of the blue, or their house broken into, just to fulfill the enforcement officers want of finding drugs.

It can also extend beyond mere search and seizure of your belongings and documents, into the commission of racial profiling, asset forfeiture, and mandatory drug testing, if you oppose.

This may sound like an abuse of the Fourth Amendment; but in fact it is much beyond that; a question of credibility in the law in terms of its oppression; thanks to the war on drugs and seizure.

FEEL LIKE MAKING A CALL?

This war on drugs and seizure has much been criticized by various liberal groups, who have compared the United States’ primitive view on such issues, compared to various third world countries.

On top of it all, this seizure is not only applicable to American citizens, but also to everyone who is visiting or residing in the US.

Plus, the US government may keep the accused untried under the shield of ‘war on drugs and seizure’, even after the native country’s (of the accused) requests for the deportation of the accused to be tried by their laws.

To finish, if you decide to join this interesting roller-coaster war on drugs and seizure, just call up the US Customs Services if you have any relevant details.

Fret not; your identity is always kept secret…ha!
