People must take off their shoes and walk through metal detectors to get through a security checkpoint.

Then your carry-on items are reviewed through a scanning machine that literally x-rays them so that security personnel can view everything you have, which is a gross infringement.

New machines are now being used in some airports that actually scan people through their clothing, providing an almost naked view of you to the security people.
